Coche-Dury
SUMMARY
Coche-Dury is a highly regarded producer based in Meursault, Burgundy. While they make some red wines from Pinot Noir, the house is famous for its highly collectible white wines made from Chardonnay.
This brand is widely regard as being among the very best from Burgundy with much of the Domaine’s success attributed to head wine maker Jean-François Coche-Dury, who was famously described by Robert Parker as “one of the greatest winemakers on planet earth”, and few would beg to differ.
Since 2010, the vineyard has been overseen by Jean-François’s son, Raphael.
In total, the Coche-Dury holdings represent just over nine hectares (22 acres), about half of which are in Meursault itself. Their most recognised Grand Cru wine is the Corton-Charlemagne, but a handful of the domaine’s other wines are of particular importance. Premier Cru wines from Meursault’s Les Charmes and Les Perrières vineyards are among the most expensive wines from the Côte de Beaune, and the Coche-Dury Meursault is among the most sought-after.
