This Burgundy winery has won numerous awards over the years including Grand Cru Classé status in Gevrey Chambertin Clos de Beze since 1934. Armand Rousseau came from a family already heavily involved in winemaking and inherited several vineyard plots as well as the winemaking facilities in Gevrey-Chambertin as a wedding gift in 1909.
Rousseau immediately set about expanding his vineyard holdings purchasing new plots of land, carefully seeking out indigenous grape varietals that would flourish in the region.
