Liv-ex Regional Indices
2021 marked a successful year for the secondary market for fine wines. Liv-ex, the London International Vintners Exchange reported that all previous records had been broken and surpassed. A combination of low interest rates and accumulated savings throughout lockdowns increased demand for tangible assets. Fine Wines resilience throughout the uncertainty of 2020 and 2021 heightened the appeal to collecting fine wines.
At Moncharm Wine Traders we do not recommend a period of hold less than 5 years. However, given the recent global economic uncertainty we feel it is helpful to highlight the increases some Fine Wine prices have had over the past year.
