With the goal of creating “world-class,” co-branded English wine, the Blenheim Palace estate announced that it is looking for a reputable winery partner to grow a vineyard on 60.7 hectares (150 acres) of prime south-facing terrain.
Â
Property consultant Knight Frank, which has been chosen to let the block of land, describes it as an exceptional opportunity within the burgeoning UK grape sector, highlighting the site’s suitability for sparkling wines. Situated in the Cotswolds, Blenheim Palace is a world historic site recognised by UNESCO, dating back to the 18th century, and it receives over a million tourists annually. It has been used as a filming site for films like Harry Potter and James Bond, and it is the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, the former prime minister and leader of the United Kingdom during World War II who was also well-known for his love of champagne.
As one of the most well-known and identifiable historical sites in all of Britain, Blenheim Palace offers a superb chance for a reputable vineyard to collaborate with a high-end brand to create genuinely unique English wines. With its gorgeous Cotswolds location and its dry, cool soil, Mansel Lewis continued, “The Estate offers ideal growing conditions with huge potential for cultivating premium wine grapes.” Only a minor section of the 4,856-hectare (12,000-acre) Blenheim estate is designated for vine cultivation.
Â
As of May 2026, it would be prepared for planting. According to Knight Frank, the estate expected a 30-year duration for its partnership agreement, and it would take four to five years to start up vineyard operations. Prospective purchasers may be especially drawn to the Blenheim brand in addition to the UK’s growing status as a wine-producing country. All sizes of wineries are welcome to apply, according to Knight Frank, with flexible business structures such as share-farming, joint-venture, or lease arrangements.Â
